Surrounded by clutter

It seems I have spent the majority of my life surrounded by clutter. I don't know if it's because I'm a Gemini and so predisposed to doing 30 things at once nd never seeming to finish any of them, or I'm just totally disorganized. I suspect it's a combination of the two....that's my story and I'm stickin' to it! lol

However, today I have spent the last five hours working on the picturetrail site, working on winning a few bids of cool stuff on eBay (stuff from 1883), working on orders, etc.. Now, normally I don't mind this kind of day, but for some reason I keep hearing some small canvas boards calling my name. I suspect it was my phone conversation with Kelly the other day...the kicker, again, is that I already have my next project kinda worked out in my mind...and it has nothing to do with canvas. On the otherhand there is the stitched piece I should have completed already for my grandmother. It was for her 80th birthday.....she will be 96 in July. I am going to see her in May and I really want to take this to her......completed. Of course she has told me not too long ago that she doesn't expect to live forever. I told her that she had to live until I finished the piece, and if I don't finish the piece then she will have to live forever........If only life was that simple! lol

Ahhhhh....I have promised myself to make time for working in the studio this year....so far, I've only gone in to add more stuff to it....not even to clean it.......lol. I'm hoping by February all will be cleared away, at least enough to begin creating.......In the meantime, here is my very first ATC creation.......Ironically, it's still one of my favourites. It's not very current, but at least it's a sample of something I've done ....... lol.

Have a great day!

Smiles,
Brenda

My original first post from my first blog in 2005...better post than the first one here.......lol.

Below is my first (and only) entry from my blogspot account. As you can see I could go no further....I didn't think it was 2005 that I posted.....wow, time flies! lol I couldn't figure out how to add pics, or anything, so I dropped it......I wish I had remembered the name of it though as Brenda in Paradise was nicer than using the company name........lol.

Brenda's Blog
Well, here I am......my first ramble while in Paradise. This is a journaling place for me, so you might want to skip right to what it is you'd like to see......get past all the mishmash......lol. I figure I spend so much time at the computer anyway, that it's a logical place for me to actually write down some of my musings......

Mainly my musings will deal with art....my own version of art, so beware.......many of you may not find it all that exciting......It's a place where I'll be growing....I've always been the kind of person who writes stuff down or talks stuff out on my way to discovery.......self-discovery mostly......lol.

Okay.......enough rambling for today......I wonder if I'll ever find this again........I must write down my information somewhere........lol...........I hope you have a wonderful day, too!

Time Zones

As I just posted my first entry, I noticed it doesn't give me a choice of timezones, etc.......It stated that it was yesterday at 10:22pm........but actually it's the 28th and is now 3:06am........So, I am assuming that the headquarters for this is out west somewhere......If anyone knows if I can change this to reflect my timezone, can you please let me know?

I figure with each blog entry I'll try to post a picture of some sort. This is a stamp I made of my grandmother when she was 21. I love the simplicity and starkness of the image....a real contrast to the warmth and liveliness of my grandmother who is still going strong at 95!

Introduction

This is a place for my ramblings......they will, for the most part, be art-related or perchance a place to vent my creative energies.......You are more than welcome to stop by at any time, and as I figure out a way to add stuff to the site, you may even see a hint of design work...some previews to my lines of products or just some playing around in the studio......Feel free to leave constructive comments, share your ideas and thoughts.......

In the meantime......a tiny bit about me......I was born in Ontario.......lol....okay, we won't go that far back. rotfl........I was once a teacher of art, drama and English. After I had our first daughter and realized I'd be staying at home for awhile, I went stir crazy and so began developing my own line of beaded jewellery and photo notecards (I had taught both photography and beginner jewellery-making in my previous teaching life). After doing the craft market for a year or so, I was introduced to the world of art rubber stamps at Toronto's Creative Sewing and Needlework Festival. I was hooked and began making cards to sell using rubber stamps...then I began carving my own....then I began selling the supplies for the craft and now I've begun manufacturing various lines of products based on these principals. In my spare time, I am a mixed media artist......of course that's more on the design table than in practice as of late, but I'm working towards getting back to that goal this year. My first design piece this year is a combination of traditional rug hooking with the addition of wire, beads, bark and more........

Okay, enough rambling tonight..........lol.
